The Bulat Utemuratov Foundation handed over two laboratories for PCR screening for Covid-19.
Bakytzhan Sagintayev, Akim of Almaty city, Yerlan Ospanov, CEO of Verny Capital group of companies and Marat Aitmagambetov, Director of the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation kick-started the first modular laboratory for detecting COVID-19 in Almaty.
A similar laboratory has already been operating in Nur-Sultan since June 5. Both facilities were purchased by the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation for 4 million US Dollars from BGI (China), a world leader in the field of medical research, production of equipment and consumables for laboratory tests, and were donated to local akimats and public health departments.
The National Center for Expertise of Medicines and Medical Devices has been appointed as operator for free high-accuracy PCR screening of population for COVID-19.
In Almaty, the laboratory was set up in one of the pavilions of Atakent exhibition center, in Nur-Sultan – in Kazakhstan sports complex. If necessary, the laboratories can be relocated within a week.
