The Sci-Tech Hub is a next-generation educational center that unites science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through an interdisciplinary approach. Its grand opening took place on October 8 on the campus of Haileybury Astana International School. The event was attended by Zhuldiz Suleimenova, Minister of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sally Axworthy, British Ambassador to Kazakhstan, and a number of other distinguished guests.
The new educational center was designed as a space for 286 students, combining laboratories, learning areas, and coworking zones to provide each student with opportunities to unlock their full potential. The facility includes a robotics arena, flexible classrooms, interactive lecture halls, and exhibition areas.
“This center will further advance Kazakhstan’s education in the fields of artificial intelligence, engineering, and robotics at a global level. I am pleased that teachers and students from across Kazakhstan will be able to hold lessons and laboratory experiments here. As you may know, at the recent international olympiad, Kazakh students won two silver and one bronze medals. I am confident that thanks to this center, the number of medalists will continue to grow,”
said Zhuldiz Suleimenova, Minister of Education.
A particular point of pride for the Hub is its state-of-the-art laboratories in mathematics, natural sciences, and robotics, all equipped to international standards. Here, students work with advanced tools, digital technologies, and real scientific challenges. The Hub also features six dedicated math classrooms with interactive panels, tablets, and specialized software for modeling, 3D visualization, and data analysis. Additional spaces include mobile assembly stations, testing areas, and a mini robotics arena for competitions and project demonstrations.
“The construction of the Sci-Tech Hub is a landmark initiative for the Verny Capital Group. The project reflects our commitment to the social mission of business and to supporting the development of Kazakhstan’s society. We will continue to invest systematically in educational infrastructure and in improving the quality of learning across the country. For us, Sci-Tech Hub is an investment in Kazakhstan’s future,”
emphasized Aidan Akanov, CEO of Verny Capital Group.
Covering an area of around 3,000 square meters, the center was built and fully equipped in record time — just ten months. The building was constructed using high-quality materials and meets all international standards. The project was implemented with the support of Verny Capital Group, with a total investment of 3.4 billion tenge.
“We have paid special attention to the project’s social mission. The Sci-Tech Hub will serve not only as a venue for school and city events but also as a platform for international olympiads and competitions open to talented children from all over Kazakhstan and abroad. In this way, the center will contribute to developing the country’s scientific potential and expanding opportunities for young researchers. As part of our scholarship program, we plan to attract more gifted students from different regions of Kazakhstan,”
said Ian Hunt, Chairman of the Board of Governors of Haileybury Astana.
In the future, the Sci-Tech Hub plans to establish partnerships with leading scientific and educational institutions worldwide. Through these collaborations, students will gain the opportunity to work on real-world projects under expert supervision — laying a strong foundation for their future academic and professional success.
