He will oversee the strategic development of the University.
Bulat Mukushev is a graduate of the Physics Department of Lomonosov Moscow State University (1993), and a Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (PhD). He was awarded a master’s degree in administration from the Higher School of Economics National Research University in 2000, and an MBA degree (Yale University, USA, 2003). Mukushev is the holder of the CFA certificate as well.
He started his professional career in 1995 and worked in the financial industry. From 2003 to 2014, he held senior positions in the banking sector and large investment companies, such as Moskommertsbank Commercial Bank, IC East Capital, NBK-Finance, NBK-Bank. In the period from 2009 to 2011, he was a Chairman of the Board of the Damu Entrepreneurship Development Fund JSC, and an independent member of the Board of Kaznex Invest (2016). Since 2023, he has been an independent member of the Board of Directors of State Credit Bureau JSC.
Mukushev has more than 10 years of teaching experience at the School of Economics and Finance of Almaty Management University. His academic interests include alternative investments, investment analysis and business valuation.
As Chairman of the Board of Directors, Bulat Mukushev will oversee the strategic development of the University’s financial, scientific and educational activities. He replaced Marat Atnashev, who headed the Board of Directors of Narxoz University since 2022.
