RG Gold has commenced detailed engineering design of a new mining and metallurgical complex in the Akmola Region. The total investment in the construction of the complex exceeds 160 billion KZT. Company’s shareholders are Verny Capital and the American fund Resource Capital Fund.
RG Gold has announced the start of detailed engineering design of a new mining and metallurgical complex in the Akmola Region. A leading Kazakh industrial engineering design and construction company called AAEngineering Group has been awarded the EPC contract.
“CIP Plant’s capacity is 5 Mpta of Primary Ore. This summer, all the necessary preparatory earthworks have been done. Total investments exceed 160 billion KZT, including the plant itself and the entire infrastructure. Construction will be completed by the 4th quarter of 2022”, said Erlan Ospanov, the Director General of Verny Capital Group of Companies.
Erlan Ospanov also said that, since 2014 almost 7 billion KZT have been invested in exploration. According to the international JORC Code, the precious metal reserves amount to 100 tonnes, whereas resources were estimated at 185 tonnes. The potential of Raygorodok is not yet fully discovered. Further exploration and investment activities are underway.
“The new plant will create over 1,100 permanent jobs for Kazakhstan’s citizens, and the cumulative tax contribution to the state budget will exceed 20 billion tenge a year. RG Gold annually allocates over 100 million tenge for social and economic development as well as for improvement of local infrastructure. For example, the schools in nearby villages were rehabilitated and equipped, a new water well was drilled, the road between Shchuchinsk and Dmitriyevka village was repaired”, added Lawrence Rossouw, RG Gold’s CEO.

Seven public hearings have been conducted with residents of the Akmola Region, representatives of local executive authorities and environmental activists over the entire CIP plant design phase.
