Verny Capital enters into agreement with the ‘Justice and Prosperity’ Fund regarding Media Holding 31

Media Holding 31, which includes the television company Channel 31 and the news internet portal Informburo.kz, has changed ownership. For the first time in Kazakhstan, an NGO – the Public Fund ‘Justice and Prosperity’ – has become the owner of media assets.

Verny Capital is one of the largest investment groups in Kazakhstan, specializing in private equity.

“Our team of experienced managers develops assets in collaboration with strategic partners, who are leaders in their industries both domestically and internationally. After our partner in this project, STS Media, exited Media Holding 31 in 2023, we were seeking an organization capable of acquiring and further developing this asset.

We are pleased to have reached an agreement with the Public Fund ‘Justice and Prosperity’, which is led by experienced media managers. I have no doubt that this will mark a new phase of growth for the TV channel and news portal”, said Aidan Akanov, CEO of Verny Capital Group.

“The mission of the Public Fund ‘Justice and Prosperity’ is to protect workers’ rights, promote education, support ordinary Kazakh citizens, and strengthen civil society. Our supporters are engaged and proactive citizens of Kazakhstan, ready to improve the country. We see Media Holding 31 as an additional platform to unite people around our values.

I myself have worked at Channel 31 for many years and am eager to apply my knowledge and experience to its further development. We value the audience of Channel 31 highly, which is beloved and watched by millions of Kazakh citizens. Our goal is to make it even more popular, interesting, and relevant. The channel’s development will continue to be based on the principles of democratization, openness, and professionalism”, explained Dana Rysmukhamedova, Director of the Public Fund ‘Justice and Prosperity’.
