Channel 31 announced the appointment of Zhumagali Kurmanbek to the position of Director General.
Previously, Zhumagali Kurmanbek held the position of Director General of Astana Television.
“With the start of a new TV season, a new team of top managers under the leadership of Kurmanbek Zhumagali comes to Channel 31. I am sure that this decision will give a new impetus to the development of the channel, by improving the quality and quantity of its products and addressing the growing needs of today’s audiences,” said Yerlan Ospanov, CEO of Verny Capital Group and a member of the supervisory Board of Channel 31.
As CEO, Kurmanbek Zhumagali will focus on increasing audience indicators on TV and on the Internet, gaining market share of Channel 31 in Kazakhstan, expanding its product line and enhancing business efficiency in general.

Kurmanbek Zhumagali was born on August 27, 1985. In 2008, he graduated from the Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, majoring in journalism.
Zhumagali began his professional career as an editor on Kazakhstan TV channel, was an editor-host, a correspondent of Khabar Agency. From 2013 to 2018 Kurmanbek Zhumagali worked in the civil service – he held the position of head of the press service in the Akimat of the Karaganda region, headed the department of internal policy of the Mangystau region. In 2018-2019 Zhumagali headed Kazak Radiosy, and was the first Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Kazakhstan TV Channel.
Channel 31 is a Kazakhstani TV channel for family entertainment with a large share of high-quality national products of its own production, including informational ones. The Channel’s strategy is aimed at strengthening its leadership positions in new entertainment formats and is the exclusive owner of the super-premiere content.
