Wellington College International will become the new partner of Haileybury Almaty and Haileybury Astana in Kazakhstan. In summer 2027, the schools will join the Wellington group and operate under the names Wellington Almaty and Wellington Astana. This new chapter will build on the strong foundation established by Haileybury through years of successful operation in Kazakhstan. The partnership is aimed at supporting the continued development of the schools, expanding opportunities for students and teachers, and further strengthening Kazakhstan’s position as a regional hub for high-quality international education.
Founded in 1853, Wellington College is one of the United Kingdom’s most respected and distinguished schools, renowned for its high academic standards, modern approach to education, and strong focus on the holistic development of students.
The partnership with Wellington College International marks the next strategic stage in the development of the schools in Kazakhstan, providing access to a broader international educational ecosystem, global knowledge exchange, collaborative academic initiatives, and additional opportunities for both students and teachers.
“As part of our long-term development strategy, the schools will continue to actively collaborate with public educational institutions, contributing to the exchange of expertise and the sharing of best educational practices. This approach reflects our commitment to supporting the broader development of Kazakhstan’s educational landscape,” said Ian Hunt, Chair of the Board of Governors of Haileybury Almaty and Haileybury Astana.
