This year, the gold mining company RG Gold celebrates its 10th anniversary. Summing up the interim results of the anniversary date, we decided to ask the company’s representatives questions not about business, technologies and products, but about corporate social responsibility.
The mining industry of the country often talks about the transition to responsible mining and increased attention to social projects. But how things work in reality? And how effective is the assistance of mining companies to ordinary Kazakhstanis? Mr. Kadirzhan Dautalin, Head of Government Relations at RG Gold told Orda.kz about this.
– Kadirzhan Amangalievich, how actively is RG Gold engaged in social projects?
– Our company annually implements social projects worth about 100 million tenge. We regularly hold meetings with the local population and representatives of the akimat, discuss potential areas for further investments that contribute to improving the socio-economic life of the region. We have a diverse portfolio of social projects: it includes the repair of schools in Nikolayevka and Uspenoyurevka settlements, reconstruction of the Walk of Fame in the city of Shchuchinsk, educational grants to the best school graduates to study at universities, material and technical equipment of schools and mini-centers, targeted assistance to multiple children family and low-income families. This is not all of our projects.
